I have been reading and hearing a lot of discussion lately about the very real potential for a serious economic collapse of the U.S. economy. This discussion is not coming from government, industry or the wealthy one percent. For them this is an inconvenient discussion, and does not work with their plans and positions of wealth and power.

Mention a solar power farm and many people picture a field of solar panels. This is incorrect in most cases. Instead, one gets a field of mirrors. The mirrors are controlled by a computer system. They are tilted at different angles to do just one thing. They redirect light to the top section of a tower placed in the middle of the mirrors. This section is filled with a large amount of a salt mixture.

The sun is big – it forms about 99% of the matter in the solar system. It produces most the energy needed for life on earth today. The energy the earth receives from the sun is just a very tiny portion of the energy produced by it. Most of the sun’s green energy radiates out into the empty void of space.

Public utilities- Already generate electricity? Then you’re the ideal candidate to benefit from biomass advantages. Why? Well, you don’t even have to build a new facility. A biomass energy company can come in, design, and implement a co-firing system in your plant that will allow you to turn a fraction of your power into biomass electricity, meeting changing “go-green” standards. Good for the environment and good for your company too!

Without delving into a mathematics lecture, if you can get a customer to pay you once and then to keep paying you, or give them a reason to come back and purchase from you again and again, your customers are much more valuable than if you can only get one sale out of them.

Compared to other energy platforms, hydropower is very efficient. Energy conversion rates are in the 80 to 90 percent range. The plants also have a long life as you can see with any dam, and maintenance costs are relatively low. Cost of energy production, thus, is lower or on par with other energy platforms including oil.

One of the reasons solar energy was not used in the past was it could not be stored and used later. Modern technology has made many strides in storing and using renewable energy. In today’s world, batteries to store solar or wind generated energy are much more efficient.

Living off the grid is a wonderful feeling. Knowing that you are out of the clutches of the oil tycoons brings more freedom and the next time there is a power cut or a price hike, you can just give a smile and forget about it, because you will be living off the grid.
